To exist is in the eye of the beholder

I love my Job. I start at 8;00am in the morning and leave at 5:00 in the evening. My name is John and I've been working here for the last 9 years.
I 'am the first person that you see when you come into the building. My boss and the people I work for seem nice enough but they always appear to be preoccupied? Everyone that comes in off the street is always looking for help and direction for there life in which I'm always willing to help.
For the most part the people that I work with work on different floors of the building have private office's, and are able to come and go as they wish. Now I'm not complaining mind you, but I have to stay at my desk all day every day as they keep passing me by.They must be very busy and have a lot on there minds. I mean they sometime act as though I don't even exist.
Maybe I'm just too sensitive, after all my boss just came by an actually said "GOOD MORNING DAN HOW ARE YOU DOING?"
